Overview
Taco’bout the ultimate way to see Mexico – this is it! Think tequila, think islands, think cenotes and more. This whistle stop tour of Mexico will cover the idyllic beaches, a wonder of the world, and of course some of the best food and drink in the world. This is nacho average trip – oh no, it’s much more than that. We’re starting in Cancun before jumping over to Holbox, it’s a real slice of paradise! Merida is next, here we’ll see Chichen Itza and swim in the magical cenotes, not heard of these? Google them now! These “natural sinkholes” are insane!
Itinerary
Starting in Cancun! Caribbean ocean and white sand beaches - that's the vibe. Cancun is is close to the airport and ideal for easing into the Mexican way of life! Want to explore like a local? Wander over to Market 28, Parque de las Palapas and Cancun beach to browse dozens of Mexican clothing boutiques and accessory stalls. In the evening, it’s time for our welcome dinner where you can get to know your new travel friends aka TruFam, over dinner and a few cervezas by the pool.
Moving onto Holbox for the beach straight away, and take a boat over to Holbox and enjoy a chilled afternoon as a group. You can spend the afternoon getting to know each other and watch the sun set in one of the most gorgeous spots - get your cameras ready! Mexico sunsets are known to be legendary!
Enjoy a chilled morning before heading out on a busy day! Today is all about exploring and discovering the stunning magic of the islands. We'll visit Bird Island and then head over to the ‘’Eye Of The Water’’ cenote, an amazing natural sinkhole with freshwater springs in the middle of mangroves! You have to see it to believe it because it is magical! Finally we’re off to Passion Island which is home to flocks of PINK FLAMINGOS! Yes they really are pink. Next, it’s time to hop back onto our boat and enjoy a few beers if you fancy it (or your drink of choice). Note: Like all wild animals, it might not be possible to see flamingos at certain times of the year! Travel from April to October for the best chance of spotting some
You are off to one of the seven wonders of the world, The Mayan Site of Chichen Itza, a must-see! We will leave Holbox early, and once we arrive, we’ll have a guided tour to learn about the amazing history of the Mayan civilisation. After ticking this amazing landmark off our bucket list, it’s time to head to Cenote Yokdzonot. Once we’ve had an afternoon splashing about, floating on our backs and looking up at an unreal view, it’s, unfortunately, time to leave. But fear not, more good times are pending as we head off to Merida and arrive in the early evening.
Get ready to venture slightly outside of Merida, cycle between three stunning cenotes, with a spot of lunch along the way - we'll have earned a big'old meal! After we’ve spent our day swimming in the Cenotes, we’ll head back to the main town Merida, to chill out for a few hours, before it’s time to get ready for our evening of Tequila Tasting. We'll head out to sample some delicious local food, or what we like to call, the ultimate Mexican feast! Tacos & burritos galore! After that, try out some salsa dancing at one of the many bars dotted around Merida
Rise and shine it's your last full day in Mexico. This morning you'll set off towards Playa del Carmen, arriving in the early afternoon. It's up to you how you want to spend your final afternoon on tour, relax on the beach, check out the best beach bars around or just enjoy exploring Playa del Carmen! We'll then all get together for our final evening together as a group - let's make it a good one
